Dr. Prerok Regmi

I, Dr. Prerok Regmi, am an Integrative Medicine Research actively concerned about Ayurveda research and Practices. I have worked at the National Ayurveda Research and Training Center, Kirtipur, Nepal as a research officer. I graduated in Ayurveda BAMS from Ayurveda Campus, Kirtipur, IOM, TU. I completed his MD at the SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, Karnataka, India winning University eight rank to the specialized subject. I specialize in the field of Agadatantra evum Vyavhayurveda and have my passion and the field of research is- toxicological aspects of poisonous flora and fauna. I have contributed an editorial on the Research Journals of Ayurveda and a reviewer to the International Medical Journals. Being an undergraduate enthusiast, with interest I motivate towards Publication and research activities. During the undergraduate.  I was able to contribute to the National Project of Climate Change, by NAST, GON.

 


About Ayurveda Campus, Kirtipur, IOM, TU

BAMS Student of Ayurveda Campus Teaching Hospital ( ACTH), IOM  and BAMS

Ayurveda Campus is a central campus for Bachelor level of Ayurvedic education in Nepal. It is situated at the peaceful and beautiful panoramic location in Kirtipur. It resulted from the merging of Ayurveda Vidhyalaya and Chikitsalaya with the Institute of Medicine in 1972. History reveals that  Ayurveda Vidhyalaya was the first to start technical education in the country in 1928. Ayurveda Campus is solely committed to produce qualified doctors to meet the national need.

At present Ayurveda, Campus is conducting BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and MD Kayachikitsa(Internal Medicine) program as a branch of Institute of Medicine (IOM) under Tribhuvan University (T.U.).Its aim to train a competent Ayurvedic Doctor capable of providing Ayurveda Health Services needed for the development of Ayurveda, to enable the students to identify and manage health care at health institutions and community, to enable the students to inoculate analytical, problem solving, practical/clinical and communication skills, to establish interaction with Government and Non-Governmental Agencies and to promote holistic health in the community.

BAMS is a 5.5 years course equivalent to MBBS/BDS and other Bachelor levels in the related field. It consists of 3 professionals of 18 months each, Basic sciences, Pre-clinical and Clinical subjects with laboratory and hospital practices respectively. After completion of 4.5 years, academic course one has to complete 1 year compulsory rotating internship in a different departments of Ayurveda Hospital and Ayurveda Teaching Hospital.

The scholarship is provided to students:

Bonafied scholarship scheme – provided to 25% students annually and Free-ship scheme – provided to 75% students annually. After completing the course the person will be able to work in  Government Nepal as well as private hospitals and clinics, institutes, NGOs, INGO etc.
